In light of the Public Appointment Service's current Senior Executive Planner and Senior Planner competitions the Irish Planning Institute is hosting two workshops on job application and interview skills focusing on the Public Appointment Service’s current recruitment and selection process. These will be held across Tuesday 23rd May 2017 in the Phoenix Suite, Ashling Hotel, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8.

Workshop 2 – Begins at 14:00 with registration and a light lunch from 13:30. The second workshop will conclude at 17:00.
Delivered by Connexus Recruit both group workshops will cover the same topics:
- Competency Planning – relevant for stages 1 (Application Form) and 3 (Face to Face interview) – using the S.T.A.R technique
- Psychometric Assessment – preparation and performance
- The Selling of YOU – how to perform at interview, using an Elevator Pitch Format
While the Institute has not endorsed the use of online tests it is intended that this workshop will be of benefit to members who have to sit such tests in the meantime while attendees will also be given advice on how best to complete application forms and prepare for competency based interviews.
Each workshop will also include perspectives from IPI members who sat on interview boards in previous Senior Planner/Senior Executive Planner competitions.
