IPI Greater Dublin Area Branch Visit to Dublin Port

Event Date:
06/03/2019
Event Time:
4:00pm
Event Location:
Dublin Port

The IPI Branch Co-Ordinator has organised a second event for the Greater Dublin Branch as part of IPI activities to reinvigorate the branch.

The event involves a visit to Dublin Port for a talk and a boat trip around the port (subject to boat availability from DP).

Many of you will be aware of the Dublin Port Masterplan 2040 which sets out a long-term development plan for the port. You may not be aware of how extensive this is and that many port related developments are planned for other areas in the Greater Dublin Area. The plan has to be flexible of course to cater for Brexit requirements which is another interesting aspect.

Some of you will have been to Barcelona Port and heard of their port development plans so the Dublin experience should give some more interesting insights into port development.

This event should be of interest to all members in the GDA public, private and other sectors and we would hope for a large attendance.

As set out in the IPI Annual Report 2018 the IPI Council will assist and support any branch both financially and with administration support but ultimately the running of the branch has to come from local members as it is their branch. The IPI organised the last event which was a visit to the Central Bank and from that we understand that there is interest in having a branch but at this point members need to step forward to take on the running of the branch.

As numbers are limited for the visit we would like people to register their interest as soon as possible so we can advise Dublin Port of likely numbers. Please email to info@ipi.ie.
