Thank you to the 14% of members who responded to the on line survey in April and May which will greatly assist in directing IPI strategy in the future. Much of the information from the survey will be used by the Council in the preparation of the forthcoming 2017-2020 Corporate Plan. Some of the findings are outlined below. If you wish to make any further comments or would like further information please email We are considering all responses to the survey as we prepare the next Corporate Plan, a draft of which will be circulated to members for consultation in September.

The majority of responses (84%) were from Corporate members. 52% of respondents were from the private sector, 38% from the public sector with the remainder identifying as semi states, academic and research and other.

27.5% of respondents said they were not as active in the Institute as they would like to be. As noted in the June ezine, members are encouraged to get in touch if they want more information on ways to get involved or have suggestions for how they would like to contribute.

In the 2013 members’ survey 88% of respondents said they would recommend membership to an eligible colleague. In the 2016 survey this had increased slightly with 90% of respondents indicating that they would recommend membership of the Institute to an eligible colleague.
